I am in the  south...where most natives here think a snowflake constitutes snow...
well now...let me tell you it is a real one this time and the yahoo truck drivers are sliding everywhere... it is too funny to watch.

Been snowing heavy since last night and will continue today and then the ice storm begins...wee-ooo
Olliver loves it!
Got provisions,
generator
and been having a ball.

We got 5 inches

 Grin

I love it, I really do. And yesterday I had the gift of the house to myself and a quiet day. I lit candles, listened to spa music and read a book. Awesome.

grumble grumble grumble

alright, I concede that snow on the ground is absolutely beautiful and I do like the first snowfall, but after that - all I want is spring!

We got 15 inches!  I don't think there's been this much here for 100 years!
And now the forecast is tomorrow AND the weekend, there will be a "Wintry Mix."   Sounds pretty, doesn't it?  Wintry Mix.  Like the title of one of my music CDs.
But, I assure you, Wintry Mix is NOT pretty.

But I'm going to make it better and toast marshmallows in the fireplace.  That should do the trick!

Maia - so glad you got a peaceful day - sounds luxurious and blissful. Smiley

Jas - that sounds marvelous!

The snow has started here.  I've filled jugs of water, laundry is done, clean sheets on the bed, ready to make a cake, and fill up the bathtubs with water (need that water so we can flush the toilets).  Candles and matches are out.  I have the flashlights ready and the wind-up radio.  Fire is stacked near the fireplace.  I thank God we have a gas stove so if the power does go out (and it usually does), we can have hot food.

Golly, I really don't like the snow!  Tongue

Several of us here at DH were engulfed by THE BLIZZARD OF 2010!  Wow!

The sun is shining now and everything looks new and fresh and clean and .... cold!
We lost electricity for a while and put on long underwear under our flannel pj's and winter caps on our heads and got back into bed.  Brrr!

How did you who were there fare?

It's cabin fever back again in my neck of the woods!
It.Is.A.BLIZZARD!!!!

Cooking up a storm right now (lol) and praying that the electricity doesn't go out again -- for us and everyone else.  It's COLD outside.

What we shoveled out before - well, you can't even see.
When we went out yesterday to replenish the cupboard, there was no poultry, no meat, no seafood, no bottles of water, and ......... no magazines.  The shelves at the grocery stores were empty or diminished and the check-out lines were LONG.
We've never gotten this much snow before.

Pray for those with no home and pray for the shelters and soup kitchens to have room and stay open.

B L I Z Z A R D !!!!!!!!   Its  snowing  out and im working  so I am just taking  a break before I  go back out  in the  weather  . The wind is  howling , so  there will be drifts I mean we  will wind up  with 18 inches or so  That seems  like  alot because  we havent had  a  snowy  winter in sometime  . I remember  a few  yrs  back when I first moved  up north  it snowed  evryday  and  we had  a storm  twice  a week  of at least  12 or 15 inches   sometimes  24  and it was normal for  there   Its  snow  country  up there  witht the  ski resorts  and nestled right in  a  valley surrounded by  mountains   well  kind of  not  huge  mmountains  if you know what I mean    anyway  gotta  go and  hit the snow   work  to do  love   to all   JAS
